Preparing For Surgery

Preparing For Surgery

When planning for your surgical procedure, keep in mind a few important things: be sure to bring your driver’s license and current insurance card(s). If you have an Advance Directive, please bring a copy with you the day of surgery.

On the day of surgery

  • Your driver needs to stay on site throughout your surgical procedure.
  • Plan to wear a loose-fitting top and comfortable attire.
  • Do not wear makeup, perfume/cologne, or lotion. Deodorant is OK.
  • Do not wear jewelry. If you cannot remove a wedding ring, it is all right to leave on that one item.
  • If medication drops have been prescribed for you, please bring them.
  • Follow the eating and drinking instructions that were provided by the facility where you will have your surgical procedure.
